I am admittedly not much of an American.

On a basic level, shooting someone in the head  has never been an ambition of mine. Not even Osama Bin Laden being killed gratifies me enough. I realize he was a murderous, stupid, religious fanatic. I mean, the guy was charismatic enough to get some idiots to fly an airliner into a building.

Still, the idea of "heroically" shooting this guy in the grey matter doesn't make me feel better about the situation. It doesn't change any of the things that matter right now.

I'm not trying to be a moral relativist, but our former President's response to this atrocity wasn't much better than flying airliners into buildings.

There he was, another rich, spoiled, religious fanatic who bombed some innocent people from another county to even the score with the other idiot. Well, hell, that sure taught him. And started us on the road to moral and financial bankruptcy.

I can"t listen to any more analysis. Nobody seems to care about the sheer craziness of it all.

The average American is proud as punch at the demise of knucklehead number one. Now, knucklehead number two sits comfortably in a mansion, beloved by some of his flock of dodos...

All this killing doesn't seem to help solve the real problems.

We act as if we don't know where our jobs disappeared to. They went to the workers who sell their labor cheapest in order to maximize corporate profits; the very companies that the American taxpayer subsidizes.

When did unions become the enemy of the state? What little power American workers have is being stripped. Do we need to accept third world salaries in order to compete? Can't we afford to take care of Americans who get sick? Isn't that the least we can do for each other? Should there be an end to Social Security? Should health care continue to be oriented to maximizing profits?

Should we continue to bail out the most rich and greedy? And cut their taxes too?

We are getting ready to cut spending, but we always seem to scrape up the cash to kill something or someone and rescue the thieves among us.

And why are America's natural resources in the hands of private companies? Natural resources belong to all of us, and we should have a say in what happens to them and how much profit should be taken from us.

The liberals seem to feel just as patriotic as the conservatives.

I guess they both agree that killing foreigners solves domestic problems.

There seem to be too many soldiers and not enough poets.

I'm not much of a problem solver, but at least I know what the problems are.
