The Right's despondent reaction to the elections is now upon us: it is a cacophony of doom and gloom, a heavy metal blare of fear. We may not hear the end of it for quite a while. It is predicted, in fact, that the rending of garments and the gnashing of teeth may last another four years. At least until the Righteous Ones have been appeased.
Which may be never.
Leading the pack of ferociously rabid dogs of despair is, of course, Glen Beck: "The Body of America is even sicker than I thought it was." "Buy farmland...Grandfather yourself into the Second Amendment." In the compilation video below, Beck begins by saying that he does not know how he, his company and America will survive the upcoming regulations (?) against his industry. If, in fact, any regulations would be forthcoming, they might only serve to replace the regulations erased by George Bush, whose mishandling of the economy brought us near ruin. The call to arms (metaphorical or otherwise), however, was not limited to Beck:
Bryan Fischer (American Family Association) stated flatly:"Today was Pearl Harbor. Tomorrow we begin planning for Normandy. Fischer also brought about one "conservative commentator's" idea that we should divide the country in half and build a wall between between the (social) conservatives and liberals - although people would be burrowing underneath to get at the conservative side and take advantage of their "prosperity."
Tim Wildmon (AFA) stated that "It's a tragic
night" and also posited that Obama was elected primarily by people who
didn't go to church. They're greedy, of course, for handouts.
