On the face of it Barack Obama's Grand Infomercial was all about America's future under the guidance of Barack Obama. It didn't overtly compare this to an America with McCain/Palin at the helm, and it certainly made no reference or comparison to Ralph Nader. Yet in a very real sense, this one and a half million dollar political ad epitomizes the old saw that says you can't judge a book by its cover. For anyone who bothers to peal back the wrapping and brush aside the glitter, the truth is there for everyone to see.
The $1.5 million went in the coffers of the "insiders" - the owners and the rulers. If Barack Obama offered anything remotely resembling a future geared to benefit the common folk, the only wave crest he would be riding would be back in Hawaii on a surfboard. The picture Obama's handlers paint (that has so captured the imagination--the KEY word here--of the American people) is one that Wall Street has commissioned, but not one that they would allow to be hung anywhere near the light of day. The fact that countless hundreds of thousands of John and Joan Does have sent their dollars to Obama is not a tide flowing against the Powers that Be but an addition to their own contributions. Or perhaps one should insert expenditure in the place of contribution for that more aptly describes money used for a PURCHASE.
For anyone with eyes to see, the mental capacity to reason, the ability to learn from experience, and a concern for the future of America and its people (the 98% who are not directly responsible for the mess we are in), the Barack Obama Infomercial is really about Ralph Nader. It clearly compares where we are to where we should and could be. It clearly demonstrates that the road paved by the dictates of Wall Street leads to the redistribution of America's wealth from the hands of the many into the pockets of the few. The money and the power behind this Infomercial was provided by Wall Street and anyone who believes for one fraction of a second that these people would so willingly cut their own throats is beyond hope. "Barack Obama's height is primarily due to the shoulders on which he stands, the shoulders of the 21st centuries Robber Barons."
We-the-People will once again march like lemmings to the sea on November Fourth. If ABC, CBS, NBC, C-SPAN, etc. were to announce on the evening news that Ralph Nader is a viable and better choice for America, if "important" people, famous personalities, show biz folks and Evangelical preachers were to stand up and say God says you should vote for Nader, his election would be assured. But, of course this is not going to happen. This is the root cause of America's demise. Its citizens have little in common with our Founding Fathers. Our situation is similar --we certainly face taxation without representation-- but our forebears were lean and hungry while we have grown fat, lazy and complacent.
McCain's age has been mentioned many times as a factor in the election. Nader's age hasn't because no one has taken his candidacy seriously. No one that matters, that is, and therefore We-the-People will continue not to matter.
