The Vote Vanishes

Electronic voting machines are poised and ready,
after digesting the millions of votes they gobbled up and made disappear in 2004, to eat our next election. A mere six months until November, so many questions remain...

  • Why do 18 states still use computerized electronic voting machines with no voter verifiable paper trail?
  • Why are the machines still using proprietary software that is contractually protected from inspection?
  • Why are private corporations, with no obligation to protect the public interest, still maintaining and monitoring these machines?
  • Why are hundreds of primary election problems in states like Pennsylvania being ignored ("frozen" and malfunctioning machines, broken machines that were not replaced or fixed for hours, machines set up mistakenly so that only members of one political party could use them, etc..)?
  • Why are our country's loudest and most important voices silent on these issues? Where are Clinton, McCain and Obama?
  • Will you vote in November or will a machine vote for you?
