Politics is dead in the same way that God Is Dead but religion is quite alive. The same way that Israel is Dead but the zoccupation flourishes. The same way that the economy is, if not dead then barely breathing but the rich are getting richer than ever. Politics is dead for us, sure, but obviously not dead for the "Politicians" and the special interests that own them. For them life is quite good, though I can't fathom that level of soullessness that enables one to participate in such contrived madness which makes them speak out of one side of their mouth and kiss their masters with the other.
Yes, Politics is dead like Fascism and Communism are dead. Yet, we see Fascism and Communism thriving and slowly, steadily stitching their Authoritarian Quilt that is slowly suffocating the Independent life out of People everywhere. I'm not going to let my justified cynicism of politics extend to the other levels of my life. Though it will mean compromise at the least and complacent compliance at the most. At the end of the day I am just but one man. I will insulate myself as best I can but no man is an island. I will have to adjust to continue on with living in the society that the chance circumstances of my birth and socio economic conditions have given to me.
Practical cynicism, that's my M.O. But do I sense a little indignation from my fellow digital typist warriors and warriorettes out there? Perhaps you consider me a shirker as you will not find me in a mob anywhere protesting the perceived inequities of my life. Perhaps you believe that I deserve the conditions of my life if I'm not willing to fight with a mob to try and change things? Well, I've seen many mobs and yet things have only changed for the worse without exception in spite of them. I'm talking about lasting change. Lasting change will only come by the silent, non violent protest of non participation in the corrupt Status Quo. What does that mean?
It starts with independent thinking, better described as independent critical analysis, It progresses with independent living as far as you can realize it and make it your personal reality. You can't have everything on your own terms but there are surely some compromises that you can refuse. The obvious ones are refusing the corporate comforts and easy terms that are the basis of your voluntary compliance with their slavery. So here is where my essay should really start. But here is where I will end it. You will have to create your own path to personal liberty in the present time conditions of reality. And that will start by defining what personal Liberty means to you. It means you will have to discern between illusion and reality for yourself. My writing a set of instructions, reality construct or a "belief" system and then insisting on your "faith" or worse, your "vote", won't help you. In the end you'll be no better off than you already are.
Understand that, then you will understand me.
