Because the picture I present will cover a lot of ground, I will have to post it in segments. Be advised that you will be reading generalizations which do not pertain to all Jews of every variety. They should be read as characteristics common to the majority of Jews, nothing more. - BHW
Jews are persons of white, black, brown, and tan skin color. They do not all have black hair, olive skin, and crooked noses. Jews are not a race. Neither are they a nationality. Nor can they be identified as all followers of a religion called Judaism.
Jews disagree on who or what a Jew is. Put a dozen Jews in a forum and ask them to define "Jew," and there will be 12 different answers. They will argue the matter, as they have for at least 2,000 years; but they will not club each other, knife each other, shoot each other, bomb each other, or try in any other way to settle the dispute by violence.
More than half of the Jews in the world are agnostics or atheists who do not believe in any form of Judaism. In regard to the biblical teaching that the Jews are God's "chosen people" and are under "his" special protection, one major reason was explained to me by a key officer of B'nai B'rith during a skull session in her office at the organization's international headquarters in Washington: "After what happened [referring to the slaughter of six million Jews by the Nazis], how can you believe?"
More than half the Jews in the U.S. and other parts of the world have intermarried with gentiles: a process in effect from the beginning, and even reflected in the Old Testament story of the patriarchs - Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, David, Solomon - taking gentile wives and/or mistresses.
Jews are strong civil rights activists. Many of them have placed themselves in extremely dangerous situations in a determination to end discrimination against persons of dark skin color, and have paid the ultimate price for doing so.
Male Jews like to tell jokes about the teenage girls and young women who often enter marriage as carefully protected virgins and are identified as "Jewish princesses." Examples: Why did the Jewish princess cover her eyes in her first night in bed with her husband? Answer: She could not stand to see someone enjoying himself in sex. What does a Jewish princess make best for dinner? Answer: Reservations.
Jews are slow to anger. They were too slow in Germany in the 1930's. Having learned their lesson, they react to atrocities a bit faster in the present decade. When they do, they try their best to attack only the individuals or groups engaged in violent attacks against them, or individuals or groups hiding the source of the attack or fueling it. They do not fire missiles into the general population without knowing or caring where those missiles will land.
Jews do not cover their faces with masks to hide their identities. They do not force individuals they have captured to kneel in front of black-masked executioners for days, as a form of torture preceding what the victim knows will end in a beheading. Jews do not cut off the heads of anyone they capture. Nor, except in the most unusual circumstances, do they punish persons accused of crimes without a trial.
Jews do not speak of "crimes against God." Neither do they call anyone anywhere in the world an "infidel" for not believing in Judaism.
Jews try to overcome antagonism, or any kind of problem, by responding with agreement and then a surprise counter-argument or question. Two illustrations: (1) At a staff meeting of the executives of a Jewish charity organization, there was the complaint by the chief executive officer that the staff already appeared to be overpaid in view of the nature of the work involved. "Yes," replied the head of the organization's public information office on behalf of the staff, "we are overpaid. But we are not overpaid enough." (2) [Here using close but not completely accurate quotations] - In the film "Ship of Fools," the Nazi played by Jose Ferrer insists to the Jewish salesman Liebenthal: "You know the Jews are responsible for all the troubles of Germany." Liebenthal replies: "Of course." Expressing surprise, the Nazi asks: "You admit, then, that the Jews are responsible?" Liebenthal replies: "Of course. The Jews and the bicycle riders." Puzzled, the Nazi asks: "Why the bicycle riders?" Liebenthal replies: "Why the Jews?"
