Why DLC Doggies Hump Republicans

DLC Dogs

We have two dogs. One's a male 14 pound Bichon-Poo and the other's a female 90 pound yellow lab.

Our Bichon-poo, we'll call him Earl, (confidentiality maintained to respect dog privacy rights, perhaps the only ones left-- no-one taps dog communications) is always trying to mount our yellow, let's call her Trixie.

Now these two have been raised together almost since birth and they're 12 years old now. They're almost like brother and sister.

I don't think Earl has ever, ever had success in his constant unrelenting efforts to mount Trixie. As I write this, Trixie is relaxing, lying on the floor and Earl, ever hypervigilant is circling around, shuffling between trying to mount her and putting his nose in her bum. We'often find them that way, with Trixie sleeping and Earl sleeping, with his nose in her bum.

For some reason, today, this made me think of the DLC democrats and their Republican-lite policies. These sell-out fake democrats are always humping around, sticking their noses up the Republican butts, trying to act like Republicans, always doing their all to give the Republicans what they want-- like Joe Lieberman has done-- and then they hope to get to consumate the "deal" they fantasize. But, like Earl, they keep humping along, giving it their all, and all they get is some bum in the face. Except that DLC politicians, when they retire, get good paying lobbying jobs with their friends who they rewarded.

I will confess that if you factor Bill Clinton into the picture, the DLC humpers DID get lucky, in the process dumping a lot of the values that make Democrats Democrats. But since then, they've been humping their Republican lite policies to no avail, while the republicans just laugh on.

Okay... so this is not a perfect metaphorical, analogical match up. I just couldn't resist telling a doggy tale. With Earl and Trixie, we always, when we catch Earl misabusing Trixie, tell him to stop, that he's disgusting. But of course, we know, that he, being a dog, is going to do what a dog will do, naturally, the moment we turn our attention away... just like the DLC dems will continue to sell out the Democratic party and Democratic principles, whenever they can, naturally, as it is what DLC Dems do.

Rob began his Bottom-up Radio show, broadcast on WNJC 1360 AM to Metro Philly, also available on iTunes, covering the transition of our culture, business and world from predominantly Top-down (hierarchical, centralized, authoritarian, patriarchal, big) to bottom-up (egalitarian, local, interdependent, grassroots, archetypal feminine and small.) Recent long-term projects include a book, Bottom-up-- The Connection Revolution, (more...)
