Why is homeland Security inserting its ugly face into Super Bowl XLI?

Road Closures. No Fly Zones. Shoot to Kill Orders. Search and Rescue Dog Teams. Measures all, televised every news cast for the last three days on local television to remind viewers that South Florida's Prepared, and Ready Go measures are embedded into the spirit of that which used to be simply just a football game between two rival teams. Federal, State and Local Law Enforcement participating in drills which are billed as, "Keeping You Safe" through Super Bowl XLI by our local television stations. In other words, SUPER BOWL XLI is no longer just about a game. It is about using the Super Bowl as an emotional reinforcer of fear by Bush; a reminder to the public at large that he is fighting a war out in Iraq; although the truth is that Bush is conducting an American Occupation of Iraq in Iraq, and that Iraqis of various religious stripes are fighting the Bush occupation of Iraq in Iraq-not at the Super Bowl and not in the United States. Like everything else he does, Bush is using Super Bowl XLI as an opportunity to plant, instill and fructify the notion among people that he, Bush, is fighting a war on terror and that he is preventing terrorists from coming here to do us harm. It is sad to see how many thinking Americans play Bush's game. His constant ploys to fear plant and to remind us that he is fighting terrorists is turning out to be something more akin to a parent telling its children some absurd, off the wall statement like, "before you go to bed tonight you can rest assured that no booger is coming to get you because I have hermetically sealed the house, looked under every bed and into every nook and cranny on the walls and in every closet, x-rayed every mattress, flushed the toilet three times and once more, for good luck, filled the tub with water and let it drain, slowly, just so that if any booger is lurking about in the drain pipes it will be drowned and it will not come out to get you ... you are really, really safe tonight, now God Bless You. Good Night. Sweet Dreams and Sleep Tight!" And, out of the pack of children listening to that parental reassurance or admonition that evil will not get them, perhaps one, and only the most trusting one, will feel comforted and reassured by all the absurd measures taken by its parent to make him or her safe, or perhaps it might be the most easily gullible one who will sleep comfortably, resting assured by its parent's ritualistic bedtime exercise in prudence and security. Then, too, there will be the child who will go to bed all fearful and confused, with head spinning like a cheap five and ten cent store top, trying to make room in its head for two rival thoughts: (1) wondering whether the world is actually a safe place now that poppy has made it safe and, (2) experiencing some surging thoughts that unsuspecting evil or terror can pop up anywhere when he least thinks it is going to, where he least thinks it is going to, and that he really is not safe at all, that there is nothing anyone can do to keep him safe. All drenched in fear, that child would rather soil its bed than get up in the middle of the night to make use of the bathroom facilities. He or she will remain, throughout the night, locked in the emotional chains of fear which his poppy (or mommy dearest) had locked him or her into with the nightly ritualistic reminder that evil and terror lurk close by. That child will grow up fearful of his own shadow. Just like Bush is fearful of his own shadow both in the Jungian sense of Shadow, and in the physical sense of shadow. Yet, it is only in facing its own shadow that the child will be free from fear and insecurities. It is far too easy for many Americans today to give up their breath of fresh air and lung filling oxygen when they proceed to buy the Bush bullshit that passes for the need to protect the people from those terrorists who lurk mostly in Bush's mind and within the purview of his Homeland Security Chief, Michael Chertoff-a murky looking figure who, on his own and without any need of terrorist stopping tales, would frighten children and send any child looking for the protection of a safe place away from this man who looks like something betwixt a struthious and a human being. So all of this brings me to the question, who is Bush's booger-who is the monster inside his head? The unseen fear which rises up somewhat phantasmagorically and torments him every day? Is it a voice inside his head? That thing called anxiety for which he apparently medicated himself through the use of drug/alcohol a while back and for which different stories have him being medically sedated by physicians in the White House. Is it related to the family inability to accept death and dying while paradoxically causing so much destruction, death and dying? Is Bush a man who grew up being denied the ability to admit fear? Did Bush grow up never believing in himself? Is he a man who, as a result, became a bully, like his bullish great-grandfather George Herbert Walker Bush? Is he a con-artist like his father George Herbert Walker Bush who pretends to be so compassionately patrician while actually being one of the most vengeful, ignorant, uncompassionate humans on the planet? Whatever or whoever he is, George Bush is someone who likes and needs to plant fear in order to survive. It is through fear that he can stand. It is through fear that he can govern. It is never through honesty that George Bush (or any of the named Bushes) is able to make a stand. The insertion of outlandish Homeland Security Measures into Super Bowl XLI with sniff dogs, attack helicopters equipped with shoot to kill orders, bomb detonating squads, no-fly zones and countless cameras to observe a stadium full of people congregated there to watch two rival football teams try to outdo one another is really ... a ploy of the Bush administration to instill fear and a dress rehearsal for the police state Bush is unleashing on the nation.
