Forajidos: Wicked, villainous. The New Revised Velazquez Spanish English Dictionary. 1985
The Forajidos with forked tongues, lies, and evil designs came in one night with the help of a shadowy judge and an equally shadowy Supreme Court, an unsolicited nightmare prying open the door to the White House ushering with it the unfolding plight of broken wings and shattered dreams into our American landscape, its Constitution, and our once upon a time soaring democracy.
In this nightmarish nation of forajidos and vultures that we have become where lies are the most valued currency next to blood, and oil, and corporation revenues, where money trumps people ... our democracy flails. Torn pieces of our fabric of life lay all around us: the men and women of the United States military are sacrificed by the Bushes and their power grab in the name of Bush’s greed for oil; jobs are exported or outsourced to countries beyond the blue azure to the detriment of workers in the United States, the scapegoating of illegal immigrants, and the benefit of corporations; in a sort of deja vú of the history of persecution throughout the ages, undocumented men, women and children seeking decent livelihood in this country are persecuted, imprisoned, and returned to their lands of scarce resources or governments unkind to their well-being; United States attorneys doing their jobs are fired to the detriment of justice and to the benefit of Bush and his brain Karl Rove, and of their forked tongued attorney general, Alberto Gonzalez.
To our American Democracy and its Constitution the real “terrorists” are Bush and his band of forajidos who use 9/11 as a pretext for dismantling our constitutional way of life; they perplex us, or shock us and our congress into submission of our wills and agreement with their farcical positions, rendering us unable to do anything to prevent their take-over, or ... maybe we do little, or nothing to prevent their take-over because there is much to grieve in all of what they have taken away and all of what we have lost that we have no idea where to begin to fight back; many of us have also become a river of frozen tears, unable to react to their ever expanding tentacles of destruction and repression, making ourselves, in our frozenness, easy prey to their conning ... becoming, like abused children, easy victims of the Bush-Cheney forajidos with forked tongues, lies, and evil designs.
In this current American landscape of broken wings and broken dreams created by the malevolent face of Bush and his band of vultures and forajidos, they prey on innocence and goodwill by using 9/11 to seed the fear and confusion which allows them to usher in their lies—ever increasing links in their chain of repression and power grab to the unfolding plight of our democracy’s broken wings and their domination of us ... into ... our heretofore democratic everyday way of life; swallowing up, in their wake, “the American dream”, our freedom of speech, our right to Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, our right to a fair trial, and swallowing up anything else that opposes, or stands in the way of our democracy’s meltdown, or the rise of the Bush dictatorial empire.
In the new America created by Bush truth is the enemy. Honesty and integrity, targeted enemy combatants by the Bush goons and by talking heads like Chris Matthews, Wolf Blitzer, Paula Zahn, Joe Scarborough, Larry King (who tires not of having mama Bush and papa Bush as special guests to spew their lies and sell their sons to a tired American people) and others, languish by the wayside, making it all the more clear for all to see that for them, the sordid Bush statement that Money Trumps Peace rings up the cash register every time they utter a word.
The Patriot Act, Homeland Security, Border Patrol, You are With Me or you are with the Enemy, No Right to Privacy, the Smear Patrol, Dumb Education Down, and the Department of Just Lies and Torture Chambers are Bush tentacles created to snuff the oxygen out of democracy which have been bought, hook and sinker, by a shameless congress many of whose members are now excusing themselves by saying, “if I had known then ... what I know now... I wouldn’t have voted for ...” Prompting me to ask, dear congress person, where were you when the public was out en force, clamoring against Bush, against his stealing of the elections in 2000 and 2004, against his saber rattling for the invasion and occupation of Iraq... and where are you now in his saber rattling of war with Iran.
In the meantime, it seems that today, public clamor against these outrageous Bush measures still go unheard by Bush and unheeded by Congress as if the taste for dominance and occupation still pleasures the tongues and aspirations of many Congress people, as if history never happened, as if the struggles, battles and wars of entire generations of peoples in other civilizations have taught us nothing; as if Major General Smedley Butler’s expose of War as a Racket means nothing, as if the callousness exhibited by Bush ... Dick Cheney, Karl Rove, Condoleezza Rice and others does little to expose them for their lack of conscience and moral character, as if they, in their reptilian manipulations hold the power to hypnotize our Congress against seeing the truth, or intimidate it against speaking up, much less standing up for truth.
Bush is on an uninterrupted Viagra high, riding it on the back of dead Iraqis and on the backs of American soldiers, as well as on the back of the entire fabric of American life which he is destroying.
