Political Science 101: the woes of the US presidential system The government of George W. Bush clearly has "fallen," in the classic parliamentary sense. President Bush is the lamest of ducks, he is in Richard Nixon territory. But our presidential system does not have a mechanism to grapple with a situation when an incumbent becomes so unpopular, since the next presidential election is on a fixed schedule and is still over 16 months away.

France's Presidential Election Method is Flawed The real test of any majoritarian method is whether or not the correct candidate wins, but France's antiquated method fails that test. French voters deserve a process better-suited for the 21st century. It is time to modernize.

The author of the review, George Scialabba,did one of their book roundups, called "Eight Books on American Democracy,"where he discussed various books.It was called"the most useful of these books; its recommendations...invariably hit the mark;""Hill's book is a nobrainer..."

New Voting Method to Improve Democracy is Catching On ...For all these reasons, instant runoff voting is now the hot reform to watch as Americans grapple with how to improve our democracy and make elected officials more accountable to We the Voters.
