Zaki Khalid is a young research analyst and commentator on intelligence and geopolitical developments, with a special focus on Pakistan and South Asian affairs in relation to the West. He holds a BA in Journalism, French and Education from the University of the Punjab.
He started as an internee analyst for Pakistani thinktank Brasstacks in 2008 writing for their monthly security review widely read by senior diplomats and military officials in Pakistan before moving on to his independent news and analysis forum, Terminal X. He still contributes to the magazine occasionally.
Besides online contributions, his articles are also frequently published in newspapers such as Pakistan Observer, Cross Cultural Understanding Network and The Frontier Post. One of his articles on the History of Blackwater and Affiliates was picked up as a special study case by the MEMRI (Middle East Media Research Institute).
Born in the United Arab Emirates, he shifted to Lahore, Pakistan in 2003 and has settled there since.
