Letters From Saddam

By Rob Kall

OpEdNews.Com

A business associate sent me this satirical letter from Saddam. It's clearly spun with a right wing orientation. I followed it with my own Letter from Saddam, fleshing out a "spin" that reflects reality, not dittohead world right wing stupid white man babble. My comments are interspersed.

First, the right wing Saddam Letter

Dear Election and Candidates:

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to speak my mind. I lost my job this past year.

When Clinton was president, I worked in a prosperous enterprise. But in the last year, we had to close our operations.

(Right, and US costs went from a billion a month to $25 billion a month)

Far worse, I lost two of my sons in Bush's evil war in Iraq. They gave their lives for their country, and for what? My pain of losing my sons is indescribable.

While it is trivial next to the loss of my sons, I regret to say that I also lost my homes. I simply have nothing left.  I am a senior citizen with various medical problems. I'm not in a position to begin a new career. I was reduced to the point of homelessness.... all because of President Bush.

And when the authorities found me, did they have any compassion for my misfortune and ailments? No, I was arrested.

If I had any money left, I would donate most of it to the Democratic party. If Al Gore had been elected in 2000, I guarantee you, I would still have a job, a home, and most importantly, my sons.

(And the US would have 700+ more sons who were killed in Iraq.)
Regards,
Saddam Hussein

And here's my spin on A Letter from Saddam

Meanwhile, the good news is, all the efforts and millions I spent trying to get some Arab hue and cry against the US went for naught. But Geuorge Bush has done more to help "the cause" than all the Osamas and me put together. Now, Iraq truly is the home of terrorism and it has spawned more jihadists and inspired more home-brewed terrorist groups than any Islamist ever did. Since I invested in oil companies, knowing the risky nature of Iraqi oil, I am now much richer thanks to Bush, with prices skyrocketing

As far as Israel goes, I think we'll see, now that Bush has clearly shown that he is unable to handle the middle east with the balance it requires, that there will be more terrorist attacks on Israel than we could have dreamed of.

Internationally, the fall the US caused me was at an enormous price. If there is need for the US to send troops elsewhere, it will be laughable to see where they get them from. They'll have to pull them from Iraq and Afghanistan, or start a draft, or keep reservists away from home for years. On top of that, the USA's reputation internationally is down the toilet. No-one believes anything the Bush administration says and only the biggest trading partners and the tiny suck-ups pay attention and help out. Already  Spain has canned its leader for sucking up to Bush. The UK will probably do the same thing. Italy has another crooked corporatist, so Bush doesn't have to worry about Berlusconi.

Meanwhile, they're taking good care of me in a posh location and are not rushing to take me to trial because they know I will talk and tell things about them that they don't want heard, at least not until after the elections, which they are very sure they are going to win, with the help of crooked election machine companies and election supervisors who disqualify minority voters.

When it comes down to it, the only positive outcome Bush may be able to claim for his stupid, lying, badly planned, treacherous escapade in Iraq will be the removal of Saddam. The price was too high.
