A Cup Half-Full You Can Believe In The clear losers in this political miasma are Progressives. The President has announced that he will continue to ignore our well-articulated concerns, and he also will condemn us if his bland political pragmatism fails in the elections of 2010, with the result that an impotent Democratic Party is replaced by an impotent Republican Party.

Don't Ask, Don't Tell, Don't Think DADT is, and always was, a ridiculous concept even without regard to the matter of homosexuality. By explanation and practice, DADT is premised on the notion that any member of the military who thinks a certain way constitutes a danger to service morale, a danger so serious as to necessitate the removal of that individual from the service, should such thoughts become known.

The New Man in the White House The most recent Obama demonstrates an ability to think on his feet, to recognize and respect the opinions of those who disagree with him, and to argue, with civility and even gentle humor, that when hypocrisy or ignorance are the controlling motifs of opposing opinions, they must be dismissed with prejudice.

A Case Study: Dawn E. Johnsen The churlish treatment of Dawn E. Johnsen by President Obama and his administration should finally silence the desperate true believers in the Democratic Party who cling to the fantasy that the President is a victim of the unforgiving political reality that passes for government in our nation's capital.

Follow the Money Greenwald has answered the simple question that has been dogging progressives: "If the essence of health care reform is to de-link the exhorbitant profits of the pharmaceutical industry from the health needs of our citizens, why is Obama making deals with big Pharma that will mitigate and make meaningless that objective?"-
