His "centrism" has led to the defeat of Coakley, to the failure of a Democratic health care agenda, and to the resurgence of the GOP.
Instead of change, Obama has delivered more of GWB: corporatism, corruption, giveaways to the rich, and militarism.
Obama surrounded himself with Bush-era leftovers and Clintonite corporatists.
Obama failed to lead on health care.
Obama cut a shady deal with Big Pharma.
Obama failed to make a break with the militarism of Bush.
At the end of the Bush presidency, the GOP deserved to be crushed and isolated. Instead, Obama wanted to be "bipartisan." He wanted to look forward, not backwards. He failed to turn decisively against the Bush era by prosecuting crimes and by explaining to the American people the truth about the corruption, immorality, and incompetence of the GOP. By failing to hold Bush and the Republicans accountable for the disasters of Iraq, New Orleans, deregulation, tax-cuts, privatization, corruption, the recession, and economic inequality, Obama allowed the GOP to recover and to shift the blame onto himself and the Democrats.
Now Republicans can paint themselves as populist saviors of the middle class, protecting hard-working Americans from government waste, from government handouts to rich people, and from burdensome taxation and regulations.
Run into the loving arms of the GOP, dear Americans.
Obama is either corrupt, stupid, wimpy, or frightened (of the CIA?). Or maybe he really is just a conservative ("centrist").
Obama snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. We had such high hopes for him. He could have been great.
