| The White House has said that Iraq was not facing a "flipover point" like the 1968 Tet Offensive in Vietnam, a day after US President George W. Bush had accepted parallels between the two.
Bush acknowledged on Wednesday that the steep spike in violence now in Iraq "could be" compared to the Tet Offensive, which is widely considered to be a key point in the souring of the US public on the Vietnam War. |
