There comes a time in every writer's life that - shocking as it might seem - he has to lay aside his quest to root out hypocrisy, lies, narcissism and insane bombast.
In other words, he has to write something without mentioning our 45th President Donald J. Trump.
And while the following may seem bombastic on it own, I'm writing it with sincerity.
A major milestone/achievement has happened: My enterprise (non-profit) Sustainable Magic of San Francisco last night received the Freidel Klussmann Award from San Francisco Beautiful. The award is presented to "in recognition of inspirational grassroots action."
Along with the Jefferson Award for Community Service which I received in 2005,
this is a wonderful honor. An honor which I hope will open doors for this
enterprise effecting so many people. The video below explains much of the love
I have for my community, Parkmerced. It explains how a garden can be a
Community-builder and hopefully encourages the management, owner and developers
of Parkmerced Vision to foster a program that will build eleven small
communities for the eleven existing towers and help those communities continue
to grow along with the record-breaking expansion planned.
Yes, Parkmerced is big - but not big and cold. It tries to create a community
as a whole - but the step to community-building may lie in its existing
residents who live in the towers.
