Bagism is a concept invented by John Lenon and Yoko Ono. The idea is that we all find ourselves in varieties of bags. He was in his rock and roller bag with other rock and rollers and she in her "out in front" (i don't speak french) artist bag. The idea is to try to climb into different bags sometimes and see what it's like. (i.e. another persons shoes) Also, to realize that ultimately we are all in one giant bag. Yet still, if we all wore bags we would only judge each other by how we treat one another and NOT what we look like. It was a nice concept that was very timely and creative. In our era we really could use some outspoken voice to teach us different ways to look at things. I found the concept and thought I would pass it along. I hope I did it justice in my explanation. They also did a performance art in which they were on stage and climbed inside a bag together. The audience was encouraged to participate with their own bags and to "not only consume". (I forget where I stole the qouted line from. possibly www.bagism.com)

My idea for the border is this: (no, not put a bag over their head and forget they're foreign.)
1. Immigration should be based on need. Nations should be prioritized based on need. There can be granted exceptions in necessary instances.
2. Legal status should be earned, not given away. Prospective citizens should apply and agree to work with a peace corps of sorts to aid the nation in which they are fleeing for a period no longer than 2 years.
What kind of people flee their home and abandon their own people? Are they selfish? Are they desperate? If they wish to eat the fruits of our nation, let them earn it by first giving back to their own nation. Now seal it up and lets help these people by first sending them their own people to fix their own problems. As their nations develop and learn to solve their own problems the desire to migrate will lessen.
Better Ideas? I'm all ears.
