I seem to have a problem...
I tried to vote for a President who seemed closest to my far left, progressive, liberal, socialist, democratic political and social position.
Didn't have much of a real choice. Yeah, yeah, Kucinich (wasted my primary vote there), and Cynthia McKinney (ain't never gonna happen). Compared to the old cranky guy, the young-un sweet talkin' (jive talkin?) guy seemed closest.
I could even understand (at the beginning at least) a bit of right lean. Expediency, bi-partisan, ya know. Get along kinda thing. But whew, it just keeps getting farther, and farther away from the promises I made up in my head about my candidate... Delusion, thy name is SUCKER!
Heck, I could even had stood a Goldwater Republican.
Have ya reviewed our President Elect's cabinet choices? Or the people he seems to be drawing close to him.
Could you tell me if he's got ANY progressive folk. Or if he even plans to have any? Are there any who aren't neck deep in screwing farmers, corporatizing education, hand in the cookie jar Wall Street thieves?
Sheesh, something is wrong when Caroline Kennedy (for New York Senator) seems to be the only "liberal" on tap, and the Democratic Party is poking her with barbed sticks.
What's with Henry Reid, and Nancy P putting even more right leaning folk on important committees. Check out those evil DINO appointments.
We all know the list as it stands now, and to be honest the whole bunch pisses the depends off of me.
As a final comment...
I'm really, REALLY, glad I didn't spend a bagazillion dollars on a trip to the Inaugural just to hear some right wing, bible thumpin', nut job say a prayer over our "Change" President.
Ashes, Ashes, we all fall down.
