Quite a dirty laundry listing of offensive American activities wouldn't you say?
We do it for protection of American interests (the whole world obviously; or if resources exist that our corporations desire -- then whole heartedly) and to spread good will, peace, joy and love, right? This nation's leaders and policy makers, and our media outlets sell this platform continuously do they not?
These people revel under this banner, wrapped in the flag of their own arrogance, conceit and greed. Why? Because it pays"very well. In the two currencies they understand and crave; power and money.
Everybody needs a job don't they? A reason to breathe and to be? This is theirs"is it yours?
How come I see and hear one message that is at total odds with the actual facts on the ground?
When an American citizen picks up this same banner and waves it as "the Truth" upon which we stand, believing it noble and honorable, then he is sided with this particular camp. He picks up the gun figuratively; he shoulders the weight of the dead that were and are to come. A particular responsibility comes with buying this product, too. Then there is accountability as well"for the decimation, for the collateral damage. But many Americans deny either the responsibility or the accountability because it never comes back to "their" home. Deeds done far away in their name are someone else's problem, someone else's responsibility. Far enough away, and it can't be traced to the rightful owner, right? Sort of like the CDO repackaging of mortgages by certain financial entities. No one even knows who the original mortgagee is, while money was made all along the trading route and the damage is done now that they've blown up. Who do you hold responsible? Its too murky. Why bother. Move on, let's look ahead, not back"to the seller and packager of these products who made the money.
When I look at this dirty laundry list with the knowledge of the monstrous amount of money being spent on war and defense, I consider the "opportunity cost". What "else" that is positive for people and our world could have been done with these funds? This is where a tear should form in your eyes when you think about the extent of the destruction of other people's homes, lands, cultures and families. What if we sent non-violent "aid" education, computers, infrastructure, food, knowledge of how to improve their lives? What if we held them close to our hearts by helping them, instead of bombing and shooting them from miles away? Would the results be different? By the way, did we ever "ask" these people if they want "this" kind of help? What kind of "help" is this? Folks, it is vitally important to ask yourselves these questions, because it all comes with "Made In America" stamped on it. You might be from the heartland, but what are you exporting. Yeah baby, from our homeland to yours is the perception of the other folks faraway at the end of our guns. Remember"we're holding the butt.
Yeah, but we gotta defend ourselves? We need their oil? We need poor people to make our stuff at ridiculously low wages so we can afford it? We aren't savages and terrorists THEY are?! See"they hate us for our freedoms. We're "trying" to help them for God Sakes! Yeah"I can see right through that one, can you?
O.K. Enough! I know as well as you that politicians and military operations use something called"strategies. When a whole bunch of folks get together (like a football team?), create a plan, and implement it, they call it a game plan, a strategy, you might even call it a "conspiracy", no?
Alright. Conspiracies are plans for illegal or subversive acts. Well then, let me think about this for a moment"do our leaders and policymakers' strategies conform with the laws of morality, the laws of our Constitution, and the laws of International Agreements we have signed in the past? Hmmm, with some research, I see that they fall well short of compliance. O.K. then. There are Conspiracies going on, only they belong to the folks who deny them. Wow! This is so difficult to figure out"
Well, who is getting rich here, who is solidifying their power? Do you got any? I didn't think so.
Who is "losing" their freedoms and rights in this game plan? Some, like habeas corpus had been established for over 200 years. Who is "makin da money" around here and getting obscene paydays? You? I thought not. Do the people of the United States have a collective strategy to right their Ship of State, and does it respond to their urgent efforts to steer it? The crowd noise here is a deafening "NO!"
Do folks
have a personal strategy for avoiding the debt tsunami, the coming devastating
inflation in the prices of "everything"?
Do they have to keep using the counterfeit Federal Reserve notes that
are being used against them in an economic conspiracy hatched in hell? Why is everyone stressed out and fearful here
at home when we're spreading such cheer around the world helping everybody
else?
Consider, when you're sitting around with your family eating a sumptuous holiday meal, another family somewhere is sitting down with hundreds of others in a soup kitchen. And they are thankful too.
2010 should be a Dazzler of a new year, as our political, financial, and military machinery fix things up here and abroad so everything is working smoothly, moving towards the goal of the game plan Amercians stand for when our flag is raised. As we look at our neighbors faces, and the faces of our friends around the globe, when the Star Spangled Banner starts up the next time, let us all sing with conviction the first line "OH SAY, CAN YOU SEE!..."
