DIWANIYAH, Iraq, Nov 27 (IPS) - Detentions have become commonplace in Iraq, but now more than ever before people are being detained after being accused of membership in "militias supported by Iran."

"militias supported by Iran?"
The usual Cheney/Bush approach is to set up lots of little stories to get an "echo chamber" effect when they spring the punch line. So in a little while we'll be hearing about these "Iranian Militias" rounded up in Iraq. Gotcha!
When what?
What else could this be but a setup to justify invading Iran?
It doesn't matter if you believe their "narrative" and its "evidence" or not. No court of law will be involved, just the Court of Public Opinion. In that venue, innuendo is plenty good enough. Whereas, to refute this, you have to actually prove it is false. Good luck.
They have, what, a year? That's plenty of time to create a "Pearl Harbor" October Surprise and suspend what's left of our Constitution indefinitely. They can. Think they won't?
Or, maybe Cheney and Bush are going to hand over power to a Democrat next year with a dignified handshake, leaving only a few dirty words scrawled on the bathroom mirrors at the White House.
Or, maybe we will Impeach them before it is too late. The evidence for that is already proven many times over and in broad daylight.
There's plenty of time...
