Message to All Parties, Including the Tea Parties - Lay off of the First Family!
If you read my profile, I am a fierce fiscal conservative. Do I want to see pointless, or exorbitant spending, by anyone in government? Hell no.
Do I think the First Lady is doing ANYTHING wrong in taking a vacation in Spain - for whatever reason. Hell no! Leave her alone!
Do I want the First Lady travelling on a commercial aircraft? Hell no! She is an icon of our society and a high value target for our enemies.
Do I want the First Lady to travel without Secret Service protection? Hell no! Same reason I do not want to see her travel on commercial flights. Protect her at all costs. If you do not think this is important, just imagine what you would do - personally - to protect your significant other.
Do I want her to travel without her staff? No. As an icon of our society, she is at the beck-and-call of society. While she may not be a "political figure", she is the wife of our President and has duties and responsibilities that are not official but nevertheless important to the world view of our Executive Office.
Please, conservatives, get a life! There is plenty to criticize our government over for needless spending - Legislative, Executive and Judicial branches all included. Let the First Lady do what she needs to do to remain safe and sane.
