TOPIC or Prompt: Compare and Contrast life in Oman at the time of your great-grandparents with your life in Oman Today

[Students at our college were asked to write a 4 paragraph essay on the topic above]

Student #1

Life has changed a lot in Oman since the time my great grandparents were young. The life of my great grandparents was a very difficult time. The life in Oman today is very beautiful and comfortable. Let me tell you about the similarities and differences between life in Oman at the time of my great grandparents and my life in Oman today.

First, there are many similarities between the life of my great grandparents and life in Oman today. For example, life in old Oman there were many animals and the people didn't have any transport [besides camels]. Also, both have several [similar] things like food and house. [For example], they both had biryani. Also, they both had canned food. On the other hand, life of my grandparents and life in Oman today, both were or are changing.

Second, there are many differences between my life and my grandparents' life. In my grandparents' lives, they didn't have any hospital, hotel, clinic, streets and electricity. Life was old-fashioned. People were always tired and things were difficult. On the other hand, life at this moment is beautiful and comfortable because Oman has a lot of services and technological development. Also, the educational life in Oman today is very nice and beautiful because I can learn many languages, such as English, French, Italian and many [other] languages.

In conclusion, there are many differences between the life of my grandparents and my life. I think life of my grandparents was very difficult because they did not have a lot of food. But, they had healthy food. I think life in Oman today is very beautiful because it has many things and many services. In our life today, we have good communication and people are developing. Also, many good things are evolving in the world in our present time.
