Re: Government Accountability, President George Bush,
Vice President Dick Cheney, and Attorney General Michael Mukasey
In response to media reports relating to the Committee vote next week to hold Attorney General Mukasey in contempt if the Bush appointee continues to refuse to hand over transcripts of an FBI interview with Vice-President Cheney, as a concerned American, what is going on?
1. We live in the greatest, most affluent and generous country in the world;
2. We lead the war against worldwide terrorism;
3. We guarantee public school education for our children;
4. We guarantee the fair administration of justice in courts of law;
5. We strictly enforce NO TOLERANCE policies to protect children from school zone violence and endangerment in both public and private schools; and
6. We demand our children study and excel in understanding and respecting the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights.
Yet, the President of the United States of America, his Vice-President and the U.S. Attorney General, continue to exhibit above-the-law public acts, while impressionable children, future leaders of the world, watch their every move. Does anyone understand how many children are watching? Does anyone care how many children are watching this hypocrisy? Does anyone expect to protect democracy and the fair administration of justice when abuses of the federal subpoena process continue before our very eyes?
In the interests of justice, the civil rights of children, adults and families, please stop sending our children mixed messages. Politics continue to destroy each and every civil liberty and public safety issue for the non-politically connected Americans. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!
Sincerely,
