This is the heart-warming story of a young woman, Malorie Janasek from Chicago, running a 5K race to benefit the search fund of missing Lauren Spierer of Westchester County, NY. What is so touching about this story is that Malorie has had a lifetime of foot problems and will, no doubt, be making a hugely generous, personal sacrifice, in terms of foot pain, to run this Chicago Race.
Please read Malorie's story and, if possible, donate even $5 to benefit the search for 20 year old Lauren Spierer, missing from her college town at Indiana U at Bloomington since June 3. Lauren vanished from her neighborhood after spending time with friends. She has a serious heart problem, with no medicine, no money or credit cards, no cell phone, no keys, no shoes. Police suspect foul play and the search for Lauren is ongoing.
Since it has been 5 months since Lauren disappeared on June 3, Malorie Janasek is moved to run 5 miles on Nov. 5. Ms. Janasek is asking everyone to please contribute just $5.00 to help her reach her goal of $5,000 to fund the Lauren Spierer Search Fund. Needless to say, Lauren's family and good friends miss her dearly and every penny donated will be used to help in her search.
From Malorie Janasek's blog:
Many of you that don't know me probably are thinking that a 5K is "no big deal" and asking why I need your support to run a 5k. For those of you who do know me, you can skip this next part as I catch everyone up on my gimp feet, as you've more than likely heard me talk about it many times before."
