Do you think we live in an EMPIRE?
Because of this administration? The system as a whole?
Do you think we live in a DEMOCRACY?
Excluding this administration? The system as a whole even now?
EMPIRE: 2. The dominion of an emperor; the territory or countries under the jurisdiction and dominion of an emperor (rarely of a king), usually of greater extent than a kingdom, always comprising a variety in the nationality of, or the forms of administration in, constituent and subordinate portions; as, the Austrian empire.
Empire carries with it the idea of a vast and complicated government. C. J. Smith.
So I ask....do we live in an empire? States are territories: A territory is a defined area (including land and waters), usually considered to be a possession of an animal, person, organization, or institution. We have an emperor:a title of dignity superior to that of king. He's not a President:A protector; a guardian; a presiding genius.
We have a variety of nationalities in Congress:A formal assembly, as of princes, deputies, representatives, envoys, or commissioners; esp., a meeting of the representatives of several governments or societies. Judging by the breakdown of the definition, we have an empire. Why then is it such an offense to people when I call this "democracy" an Empire?
A democracy is:a political system in which the supreme power lies in a body of citizens who can elect people to represent them. We don't have supreme power obviously, and never have. The only thing different is our emperors aren't born, they are selected. So again I honestly ask....DO WE LIVE IN AN EMPIRE? If we don't then we need to call it something else because it's NOT A DEMOCRACY!
All of our "rights" are dictated to us. So we live in a dictatorship? Dictatorship:a form of government in which the ruler is an absolute dictator (not restricted by a constitution or laws or opposition etc.)None of our "Presidents" in the last 100 years have been restricted by the Constitution, they just ammend it to fit the goals of their own ends. So which is a worse place to be? Empire looks and sounds better to me.
So instead of listening to the governments definitions of things, look them up for yourself and decide. Let the Empire be revealed! Revealed:no longer concealed; uncovered as by opening a curtain. So why the offense? Why the opposition? Are you comfortable? Do you like the facade? Facade: a showy misrepresentation intended to conceal something unpleasant.
So unpleasant you'd rather accept the facade of "democracy"? We have "rights" you say. Right:an abstract idea of that which is due to a person. Abstract idea?
Abstract:existing only in the mind; separated from embodiment. Idea: a personal view. Personal:concerning or affecting a particular person or his or her private life and personality.
So you depend on the government to dictate things in your individual minds? You allow them to tell you the definitions of intangible things, changing them to the tangible, to suit their own ends, so you can be "free"?
Freedom:the condition of being free; the power to act or speak or think without externally imposed restraints; The state of being free; exemption from the power and control of another; liberty; independence. Act or speak or think without EXTERNALLY (government) imposed restraints or "rights".
SO I ASK AGAIN.....DO WE LIVE IN AN EMPIRE OR A "FREE DEMOCRACY"? I don't think the kid who was tased at the forum thinks so. I don't think the Iraqi people think so. I don't think the thousands of protestors arrested in this country's history think so. And all I've done is break things down with a dictionary:A book containing the words of a language, arranged alphabetically, with explanations of their meanings. Not theirs: the media, ammendments, political double-speak. Because they don't think we're smart enough to think for ourselves! LET THE EMPIRE BE REVEALED!
