Cindy Sheehan got on the ballot, folks! She is now OFFICIALLY running in the election for House of Representatives in the 8th District of California (San Francisco area)!
Cindy Sheehan has been a tireless advocate for peace. Even war-supporters know her, due to all of the media coverage she received before deserting the Democratic Party.
In case you haven't noticed, once Sheehan started speaking out against the war-loving Democrats who were good-to-go with continuing - even augmenting - the current illegal wars and the phony "War On Terror?" The Lame-Stream Media's adoring attention paid to the passionate anti-war advocate rather quickly dried up.
As long as Sheehan was not denouncing "the other war party," the grieving mom of a slain soldier was covered "liberally" in the limelight. An anti-war Democrat -particularly a Gold Star mom for peace, after all, makes for good US press on a mission to deceive Americans into believing that democracy actually exists.
Once the Nobel Peace Prize candidate started blowing a whistle on the Donkey Party's vested complicity in wars everlasting, however? Immediately the US media, fully backed by major corporations and the very Empire itself, swiftly turned the cameras off. The Peace Mom was effectively silenced because she failed to "play nice" in the game of pretending that America actually still possesses a two-party political system.
Cindy Sheehan has advocated that the use of radioactive weapons needs to be stopped. She has also come up with some great ideas for helping not only the people of CA's 8th District, but also the nation in general. In the House, Cindy Sheehan will do a whole lot of good - even if only by virtue of providing a powerful, passionate, unrelenting "Voice for the People" - and a compassionate Voice for Humanity - on the floor of the US Capitol.
Funny thing is, even though I despise politics with a passion, I'm writing to urge you all to consider helping out in the Sheehan campaign by doing whatever you can to help. After what happened with Kerry in '04, I decided that not only was I no longer a Democrat, but I had made a vow never, ever to work on a political campaign again.
That was, you see, until yesterday. The moment I heard Cindy Sheehan was placed on the ballot and will now officially be able to run against Pelosi in the House of Representatives? I realized that this was ONE individual in Congress who would not cave in, who would not become beholden to corporate hand-outs, and who would not relinquish her power to the criminal regime that quite invisibly - yet powerfully -pulls the strings behind the scenes.
Helping the Sheehan campaign is tantamount to stopping these wars. Putting in our time and resources to help the Peace Mom beat Pelosi is an actual way to help to stop the use of toxic, radioactive Uranium munitions designed to indiscriminately weaken, sicken and kill populations from Aberdeen, Maryland to Livermore, California (outside of San Francisco) to Guam to Hawaii to Alaska to Germany to Iraq to Afghanistan to Somalia and other locations in Africa where the Empire would like to steal some more "goodies"... like, say, in the Sudan region... Hint: Think Darfur and the humanitarian "crisis" in which we are bringing our typical US-style of "help" and "democracy" and "peace-keeping" - in our typical fashion of [military] "intervention" - that is, fired out the end of a poison-fire-breathing cannon!
I hate politics with a passion because the people who run for office typically are not those who are in office with the purpose of serving for the health, welfare, and well-being of their fellow citizens. From all I have seen about Cindy Sheehan, however? I am convinced the beloved woman internationally and affectionately called the "Peace Mom" is a rare exception.
I urge you to join me in supporting the Sheehan for Congress campaign effort. We must all, no matter where we live, help to defeat Pelosi, who has consistently voted to fund war and radioactive weapons used to weaken, sicken, and kill countless millions of civilians in all continents, with the exception of Antarctica. (Yet, DU has been found in the atmosphere even there). If you really think about it? The election of Sheehan vs. Pelosi is not really about San Francisco at all. This election is of paramount importance to the entire world.
On today, August 9, the 63rd anniversary of Nagasaki Day, when we bombed the daylights out of a city of complete innocents - we have not stopped the nuclear onslaught horrors even yet! Sixty three years later, really, what has changed? We are still using Uranium aerosols on civilians! The only difference is, we're just doing it these days using smaller - yet even more lethal "dose" of bombs, missiles, and penetrators that do not rattle the ground for hundreds of miles and do not leave a tell-tale mushroom cloud.
So, in order to stop these radioactive weapons ruining our gene pool and our planet's ecosystem forever, we have to get rid of the Uranium Wars Cheerleader, Pelosi, who definitely does *not* represent the best interests of the people in San Francisco, nor anywhere else either, for that matter! Let's all consider "biting the bullet," to coin a phrase, and get involved in ensuring that Sheehan whoops the Congressional Madam [Speaker's] dirty rear end! Together, we can and will oust Pelosi from her reign of power, where she is positioned to support the Empire in maintaining perpetual wars in the most influential position of Congress.
