The Jewish people are not a race. Jews come from all races: read about the Jews of Africa:

Some, such as the founder of Reconstructionist Judaism, have called us a civilization.
Yes, of course, Judaism is a religion, but it's also a culture, which leads to a lot of confusion - especially in the case of people who identify as Jews but don't feel particularly religious.
