In response to Archbishop Niederauer on Nancy Pelosi's Abortion Remarks (http://www.catholic.net/index.php?option=zenit&id=23558), as a Catholic wife, mother and concerned American, the laws of any safe and moral society respect and protect human life. However, in response to statements by Archbishop Niederauer, Archbishop Donald Wuerl, Cardinal William Levada, Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, the US Conference of Catholic Bishops and other religious leaders are:
1. To respect and protect human life. . . is not a pick and choose option!
2. To respect and protect human life. . . means to protect innocent children and vulnerable adults from soul murder, also known as sex crimes committed by employees under your supervision for decades, without full and public accountability.
3. To respect and protect human life. . . requires that religious leaders, high-priced attorneys, judicial officers and government leaders, come clean and take responsibility for failures to report soul murders, committed in the name of God, freedom of religion, pastoral privilege and political paybacks.
To all people of good will: may we come together as a society, taking full responsibility for crimes of soul murder (sex crimes) committed by employees protected by politically-connected religious institutions, crimes that destroyed the lives of children, adults and families for decades. Nationwide corrective legislation similar to California's 2003 Sex Abuse Law is desperately needed before anyone can understand the words of religious, government and political leaders, "to respect and protect human life."
Once we find the courage and faith to publicly admit fault and find humility via the release of truths hidden in secret personnel files and church archives (http://www.ktvn.com/Global/story.asp?S=8957101&nav=menu549_2), only then will we truly understand and live the true meaning of the words spoken by religious, government and political leaders. Without justice there will never be peace. Without peace, faith and our country's laws are empty.
