I'm not a frequent flyer. A pleasure trip or two a year and maybe a couple of business flights. Caught a flight out of Phoenix. A 75 minute hop across the desert to Los Angeles. Standing in line, waiting to go through security. You know the drill. I turned to the fellow behind me and commented, "I just wasn't raised to have to remove my shoes to get on a goddamned airplane."
In line in front of me was a young woman with a 6-8 month old little boy. She had her hands full with all the kid stuff she needed. The lady in front of her volunteered to hold the kid for a few minutes while I helped taker her stroller apart and onto the belt. She took her baby back and strolled toward the metal detector, then suddenly she was walking back toward me.
They made her take the baby's shoes off.
Now this isn't even racial profiling, unless our newest enemy is tall, blonde and very Nordic.
What's going on??
