Why we must stop conflating "we the people" with our Military-Industrial Complex co-opted government - Aired on Norman Goldman Show Friday, 3-25-11 ~5:45pm - 5:50 pm

(if you actually want my piece verbatim, with intonation, and Nor-man's reaction, you will have to podcast it. Podcasting of Nor-man Gold-man's show is free. The 3 hour show is 2 hours podcast and excludes commercial and news breaks. The piece should be about 1 hour and 50 minutes into the podcast. I strayed more from my notes on this piece than some so the following is not exactly what you would get on air or on the podcast.)

"Norman, how do you feel about working people being tricked into conflating their interests with the interests of their billionaire predators?" (of course Nor-man doesn't like this.)

"I will argue that conflating our government that is effectively controlled by our predators in the military industrial complex is equivalent to this. And now that our government has been turned into a tool to prey on us more than ever than before, we need to stop conflating them with us more than ever. I believe that it is time to end the use of the terms "we" and "us" that you and many of my friends use to refer to our United States government."

"Does the citizenry of the United States effectively control our government? (no) If we don't, are we responsible for the government? Does our government treat its citizenry as its constituency?, or do they treat the military contractors, the corporate monopolistic Goebbels media, the bankers, the fossil fuel and nuclear power industry and their globalist billionaires as its constituency?"

"Look at what happens when an under-educated American hears this" (even if Iraqis defending against invading mercenaries paid with American tax dollars were the targets): "The Iraqis attacked 'us'." "Many of these Americans may feel that the Iraqis attacked them. Americans are constantly confused about why "we" did this and why "we" did that. For example "why did 'we' invade Iraq?" "Why did 'we' choose to build those nuclear power plants that we now know are delayed reaction 'dirty bombs'?"

"If the American public becomes clear that our government has been hijacked or co-opted by Trojans or parasitoid wasps, or predators, we will better understand why our government does so many of these things that only harm the bulk of the American citizenry, but empowers our predators in the Military Industrial Complex including military contractors, corporate monopolistic "Goebbels" media, banking, fossil fuels and nuclear power and the intelligence community."

Nor-man Gold-man then asks what we should call them. I say (something like) that "~we can call them our co-opted government or maybe the Millitary -Industrial Complex co-opted government." (but I just usually say "our government", while avoiding calling it "us" or "we".)
