Senator Mitch McConnell's now famous admonition: "Our main job now is to see this president fail." seems patently and blatantly treasonous in both its content and its purpose, and certainly tipped the hand of the entire Republican agenda in congress for the last three years, to the nation's further destruction. And following the previous eight years of calamity, social, international, and economic, one might expect instead a little contrition, if not downright humility, if not outright shame. Instead they all seem in total denial of the various Hells they created while they had the chance. As a majority, they have initiated nothing and obstructed everything.
I have considered a lawsuit against McConnell myself, which would implicate the entire GOP, for their eager and active cooperation in the project of impeding the progress of the nation in the process of tripping up the President, and the consequent damage it continues to afflict on our country. One might assume they all had the destruction of the country in mind. Could they be working for the Chinese or the Russians or some other well-healed angry contingent?
Whether bribed or even blackmailed, wouldn't that explain their perverse, strangely self-destructive behavior? Or is Senator McConnell senile? He looks it. So does Cain. So does the whole party, as it seeks to drag us back more than a century, to a time that seems to draw them back...when God and Guns prevailed and all the thinking was done by influential insiders in Washington, and nobody knew nor cared.
I think they've been hired to do evil, these old farts, and the affect of their advanced age is to make them blurt the truth when they have no intention of doing so. Old age has a truth-serum affect on people. In any case, with their flapping mouths, they have blown their conspirator boss's cover, whether intentionally or inadvertently or simply stupidly. Who that boss turns out to be is almost arbitrary. Without its operatives, those willing to advance its interests and mouth its platitudes, where would it be?
This fact should be the backbone of Obama's upcoming campaign. This time there is a right-wing conspiracy, and it's name is absurd wealth: the ultimate Earthly aphrodisiac, even though the Bible they are so fond of waving around suggests that those who prize it are condemned to ride a camel through a needle"s eye on the way to Heaven. The widespread evangelical GOP constituency, those who faithfully vote them in, time after time, are the hoodwinked innocents who believe what they are told and conform to the norm and respond to the simple proofs of religion and patriotism and look no further for facts.
Luckily they are on the wane. Streaming information and the evolution of our children's brains will make them more of a minority than they already are. Presently, they seem to occupy a two-to-one disadvantage, or less. Ultimately, only the genetically or intellectually impaired will be available to the Right to manipulate, those who can make it to the polls, that is.
