"This year, instead of doing a global political rally, it's more of a global work party. In thousands of places throughout the world, people will be digging community gardens, putting up solar panels, laying out bike paths, not because we think we can fix climate change one bike path at a time. We can't. We know that we need global and national political action to re-set the price of carbon. But besides being good things all by themselves-- all those wind turbines, solar panels and community gardens-- will send a pointed political message or so we hope. What we'll be telling politicians is "we're getting to work. How about you?"
