Bipartisan Legislative and Executive Collusion on TPP is Double-Barrel Hit to Democracy

Consideration of TPP prior to the 2016 Presidential Election would make it one of the hottest and most robust election issue. Delaying it to the post-election session will likely relegate to a very, very lame issue.

TPP opponents view it as dismantling Democracy, however the very process of sneaking it into the post-election session is a two-fold assault our Democracy.

It deprives voters the opportunity to consider incumbents voting record on perhaps the most controversial economic issue of the 21^st Century.

Defeated/retiring legislators won’t have to face angry voters for their TPP votes and reelected Senators and Representative can’t be held accountable by voters for six and two years respectively.

A congressional staffer said supporters are unlikely to grant interviews, give speeches or take other steps in order to keep public attention focused elsewhere.
