In a continuation of the Democratic Blue Wave, a tsunami initiated by the volcanic election of Trump, Caleb Frostman has defeated Republican State Rep. Andre Jacque in a special election for Wisconsin's State Senate District 1. Eric Holder, former Attorney General under Barack Obama, who heads the National Democratic Redistricting Committee, said "Scott Walker and his Republican allies gerrymandered this district for their own partisan benefit, but the the citizens of Wisconsin are clearly speaking out this year to demand a state government that better represents their values." (According to the DLCC, this flipped a GOP-held district from red to blue after it favored Donald Trump by more than 15 points.)
