Interior Secretary Zinke responded to Rep. Grijalva's USA Today op-ed calling for Zinke to resign. Grijalva wrote, “an Interior Department inspector general investigation of Mr. Zinke—one of 17 probes of either him or his department—was referred to Justice," promising investigations of Zinke, with him to chair House Natural Resources Committee.
Zinke tweeted: “It’s hard for him to think straight from the bottom of the bottle, coming from a man who used $50,000 in tax dollars as hush money to cover up his drunken and hostile behavior. He should resign and refund the taxpayer for the hush money and the tens of thousands of dollars he forced my department to spend investigating unfounded allegations.”
