SB 193 remains an unjustified attack on N.H. public schools

Diane Ravitch "On Wednesday, the New Hampshire legislature will vote on a voucher bill that is unnecessary and will harm the state’s fine public schools, which enroll nearly 90% of the children in the state. SB 193 is an education voucher program which is really  about directing public monies to private schools; it is part of a broader conservative ideology that believes “government schools” should be replaced by a marketplace of private schools that compete for the vouchers of consumers (i.e., parents). Voucher programs do not work. Study after study, whether conducted by a conservative- or liberal-affiliated organization, arrives at this conclusion!
