In Afghanistan brave women are marching to hold on to the rights they acquired in the previous 20 years. They are demanding a place in the newly forming government.
On Saturday September 4, "Taliban fighters violently suppressed a women’s protest Saturday in Kabul. ... [The women] "said they were beaten by Taliban fighters--some of the first concrete evidence of harsh treatment of women by the group."
Said one woman in the wake of the brutality: "We will continue our struggle until we get our rights back in this government. They took over our country by the force of their weapons.”
