Tamara de Lempicka at San Francisco's de Young Museum  is the first major US retrospective of the Polish-born artist, who lived and worked in Russia, France, the US, and Mexico. Marrying synthetic Cubism with 16th-century Italian Mannerism and the sensuality of Jean-Dominique Ingres, the artist's work and life seem made for the silver screen.
