Supplementing all of the provisions of HR1, Rep. Terri Sewell (D-AL) will introduce a bill into Congress, HR4, to restore the heart and soul of the Voting Rights Act--the preclearance requirement of all states with a history of voter suppression. She specifies 11 states that will immediately qualify for return to the racist list, though many others qualify. Time will attend to that--of course obstruction in the Senate to HR1 has already been promised by the anti-hero of Congress.
Rep. Sewell will hold a press conference in the Rayburn Room of the Rayburn House Office Building tomorrow at 12:30. Come to DC and attend!
Next week a large conference will converge in Selma focused on activism surrounding a reenactment of Bloody Sunday. Watch the MSM for that and if it's not there, it will be covered online. It will be covered.
