America’s sanity, reason, and decency dwindled. And thus it let the waters that should have nourished democracy become something like a billionaire’s fountain — pointless, useless, a decoration that signals who won, and who lost…a futile game. The tree of democracy withered..Does it have life left in it yet? Democracy is a living, breathing thing — and all living things needs nourishment."
