Yet, evolution does not occur this way. It is not dictated by some external means. As the mystics say, God is within. Just so the evolutionary potential (call Him Buddha, Christ, Krishna or Buffalo Woman) is within us. The way that evolutionary potential is suppressed is by the overall modern tendency of humanity to control and dominate others, including other people as well as the planet. What we need to do is to begin structuring systems of farming, education, living etc in which potential is allowed to unfold. How we farm mirrors how we live. Dare we take the power out of the hands of the sociopaths, the corporations and underling politicians, and place it back into the hands of ordinary people and communities?

The Way of Nature is Wisdom, or what I affectionately call Sophia. By saying "The Way," I am not saying She is something to adore or to throw money at. By "The Way," I mean the Process. It is the Process of Nature that we must follow. Yet, to control and dominate that process is to bring forth disaster. Confronting the likes of Monsanto, as reflected in Jim Gerritsen's work, is an initial first step to allowing this planet to heal. After all, natural farming is nothing less than using Nature's Wisdom in a healthy fashion.
