As wonderful as the story is, the children shouldn't have to take it upon themselves. We need to be taking action as parents. We need to demand better for our children.
The steps to take are simple. Visit our schools. Ask to inspect the menu, making sure that our children are being properly nourished. It's our right to know.
And if they aren't?
We need to make our voices heard. Find out who's providing the food to the schools and pressure them into serving healthy foods. Call our principals and let them know we're taking this seriously. Let them feel the heat. Because If we're not going to be the ones to end this obesity problem in our children, then who is?
