How all this affects Ohio's role as a key swing state in the upcoming election is not clear. Buckeye officials are rapidly stripping hundreds of thousands of citizens of color from the voter rolls. Though the state remains evenly divided between Republicans and Democrats, the gerrymandered legislature is overwhelming controlled by the GOP, which is doing everything it can to shape election laws in Trump's favor.
In recent years Ohio has become infamous for the long lines and faulty machines that have deprived countless citizens of color of their vote. That disenfranchisement swung the state to Trump in 2016 and could do it again in 2020.
How many heavily armed Ohio fascists turn out at the polls to guarantee that outcome remains to be seen.
