Back in 2004, Palast was in the same room with Democratic VP candidate John Edwards when the news came out that Kerry had conceded. Edwards was shocked and said, "We're turning our back on the Blacks!" Kerry later praised the chapter of Palast's book Armed Madhouse entitled "Kerry Won."
And why did it stop there? Because the Democrats are like jellyfish, Palast said. "They have no backbone."
We're the only advanced (OECD) country in the world with an obstacle course to voting, Palast said. In Switzerland, where he recently visited, no registration is required to vote. You just get in line and vote, no questions asked.
"It's sick. It's wrong. We need to reestablish the voting rights movement!"

*Harvey Wasserman, convener of the weekly Zoom session Green Grassroots Emergency Election Protection Coalition (GREEP), Palast's venue yesterday attended by close to 150, said that the margin between Trump and Biden, at around three million, was the closest it had been since Election 1960 between JFK and Nixon. One of the attendees pointed out that more corruption was inevitable in 2024 at the level of mailed-in ballots with Louis DeJoy in charge of USPS, a Trump appointee whom Biden never fired.
**A provisional, or "placebo" ballot, is one granted to a voter purged from the rolls or who shows up at the wrong precinct, that is held from being counted until the voter shows up in person with required proof of identity or other required fixes. To show up in person at required locations that are often well hidden or few and far between inconveniences countless voters who can't take time off from work to show up or lack cars, and so on. As noted, it shaves countless underprivileged people's votes from final tallies.
