So on this holiday, between the fire crackers, beer and chips; reflect on how
have we followed the ideals of the founders, the promises of this country,
where have we strayed, why we even have poverty in this rich nation, while our
government supports and defends around the world, at home and abroad, a super
powerful corporate and billionaire class?
Look at your politicians and ask them what they are going to do to put us back on the right path. Check the political parties' platforms, their promises for future action and whether they are even addressing the disparities between the people in poverty and the super-wealthy and powerful corporations among us. Are they promising a right to life, but concealing a life of poverty in that promise?
