Hayden insists that Davidow's natural concern for Venezuela was suggesting some "need for a Cold War against Caracas, if not regime change."
Skewered at best, Hayden orchestrates imagery of the Presidential Adviser on Latin America that is both unjust and untrue. Jeff Davidow is an honest man. He's a professional diplomat with years of experience and the cojones to tell it as it is. Like it or leave it, Davidow may be an archetypal behind-the-scenes master of the art of diplomacy ... but isn't that what diplomacy is (or should be) all about?
Maybe it's time for Venezuela's Foreign Ministry (MRE) to get themselves a Jeffrey Davidow to cut the crap and get down to the business of REALLY fostering Venezuela's foreign relations.
It would make such a refreshing change, instead of perpetuating a brickwall of mini-mafias cavorting through the hallowed halls with vicious put-down gossip and personal innuendos that are far from constructive and, patently, very very destructive to Venezuela's future well-being and success in the big bad world beyond the departure gates at Maiquetia.
