She tries to soften her smile, her hairdo, but her rolling, artificially jovial laugh deepens with every year, as she approaches that sexless stage of life when we often make the most sense out of life; even if we often lose our sympathy for it. The two-for-one advantage of having Bill around is her ace in the hole. On her own, I don't think she'd make it. Once again, I think youth is our ticket for the Presidency, if we want to get somewhere. It's time to shake the old bones out of Congress, as brittle as the noble patriotic myths that no longer sustain us, as we've all become cynics too.
