In this vein, the Democratic majority would be absolutely foolish to seat Judd Gregg’s replacement before Franken’s seat is settled, which will no doubt induce Harry Reid to once again do exactly the wrong thing, in the name of “comity”.
President Obama’s counter to this Republican strategy must be to flex the political muscle that the electorate endowed him with this past November. The congressional Republicans must be looked upon as that petulant child, and President Obama must take them by the hand and firmly force them into their place while ignoring their tantrums.
The Republican Party has been an empty vessel, using illusion and subterfuge to convince people that they should vote against their own interests because of some “values” that are not traditional, and are not American, but are largely sectarian religious. By this past November, the illusion had dropped and the People saw clearly what Republican government had brought them.
The electorate has repudiated the Republican Party and the un-American policies that they have used to destroy the economy of the United States. The President is certainly correct when he points out that “…this is no accident.”(Note: You can view every article as one long page if you sign up as an Advocate Member, or higher).
