In the same editorial endorsement noted above, the Newsday editorial board goes on to say about Bernie, "That doesn't mean his passion to fix the current economic malaise and try for the impossible should be dismissed." They urge Clinton to embrace Bernie's vision and "reach for the stars."
Why should we accept a copy when we can have the original? The powers that be would like everyone to continue sleepwalking so they can continue business as usual. But millions of people now engaged or re-engaged in politics because of Bernie's vision and candid talk will retain their enthusiasm and motivation through this election cycle and fight on.
If we learned anything from the 2000 election, it's to stand up and fight back or history will repeat itself in 2016. Put pressure on our super delegates, call, and fax or stop by their office, write op-eds and comments, letters to the editors, sign petitions, pull out your smart phone and capture on video suspected fraud or suppression at polling stations http://www.huffingtonpost.com/john-wellington-ennis/confronting-voter-suppres_b_9812612.html, make a sign and join in peaceful demonstrations at your local media outlets.
If you haven't seen the letter written to New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman requesting a New York primary do-over, take a minute to read it now. Several hundred of the 3,400 who signed the petition are New Yorkers, emphatically pointing out their anger and frustration, making it clear the primary was so flawed it should be thrown out entirely and done over correctly. https://www.facebook.com/notes/stephen-fox/petition-for-new-york-primary-to-be-redone-sent-today-to-attorney-general-schnei/10153609644181732
Here's an idea; take another look at the video http://www.huffingtonpost.com/john-wellington-ennis/confronting-voter-suppres_b_9812612.html on voter suppression to push your "mad as hell" button. Round up several of your advocate friends, print out the letter to Eric Schneiderman and the signatures and comments requesting a New York primary do-over. Walk into your local newspaper requesting to speak with the political editor about an important story. He or she should take a few minutes to hear your thoughts and ask you some questions or tell you why they can or can't write about it. Jot down notes or record what they say so you can share it in comment section in OpEdNews and or write a follow up letter to the editor.
We see it coming this time, unfolding state by state, with not only Florida at the helm but the entire nation. We have no excuses. If we don't give it our all, each of us will be forced to live with ourselves and another stolen election.
