I want to take this time to get personal with everyone who reads this article. I don't believe that this is an op-ed, because when I wrote about talking are not my thoughts on what is happened, they all happen to be facts that are proven by linking them to sources.

The American people are now getting involved in the selection for president. Most all the Democratic party candidates are telling the Americans that we need "a green new deal" and Medicare for all. These are all good things as well as addressing climate change. They all are telling us they want to build up our infrastructure and get rid income inequality and promise all good things to the American people. The sad fact is that the American people care more about what they can get, and which candidate will really get it for them. This is how our country works, the politicians promise whatever the people want, and when they get in office, they do very little. Now the focus is on foreign policy" the income inequality and the rebuilding of the infrastructure and getting healthcare to all Americans goes out the window. Now it's a new game, and they have at least four years in office. Now they must pay back all the people contribute their campaigns but the case of Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders, and Tulsi Gabbard, they don't have to pay anyone back. This is a very good thing. Now the thing they must worry about is the popularity rating and learning the ropes of diplomacy with other nations. Now it's a time to set their ideas in motion. I don't see much changing and foreign policy for the simple reason that the intelligence agencies and the State Department has people working that were not elected and have been there a long, long, time.

The only one I see that can break away from the intelligence agencies, all the people in the military and all the people in the Department of Defense along with all the unelected people that have worked there for decades" It's Tulsi Gabbard. Her experience in the military having served two tours in Iraq, I believe that she can see what is going on without being briefed by people with vested interests in promoting the military-industrial complex and the corporations.

Frankly, I am tired of people that have no clue as to what our government is doing around the globe. I know the people are working paycheck to paycheck, caring for their children and trying to pursue their dreams, but this is no reason to ignore your civic duty. It only takes 30 minutes on the computer in the evening to find out exactly what is happening in our country and the world. People have no excuse for being ignorant when the technology of today gives them the opportunity to put a few words and search engine and get the answers that they want without having to go to the library, go through the index cards and borrow a book that may or may not have the information you need. Almost all the information that you could ask for is at your fingertips.

Having the role of the citizen means that you must inform yourself about how the country is run and what it is exactly that the country is doing. It is also in your best interest. I believe that the Venezuelan people are more informed about their government than the people in the United States. This is an absurdity and Americans need to change this. In closing, I would like to say that America is morphing into a fascist state. When the corporations and the military control the government, that is the very definition of fascism.
